Abstract
623,434. Vehicle couplings. BROCKHOUSE & CO., Ltd., J., and DEAR, A. T. C. Jan. 1, 1947, No. 4. Drawings to Specification. [Class 103 (v)] In a ball-and-socket vehicle coupling the ball member is mounted permanently or semipermanently within the socket member so as to be capable of limited relative universal movement and is provided with a shank adapted detachably to engage within a housing provided on one vehicle, a rigid connection being provided between the shank and the housing by a screw and nut mechanism associated permanently one with said housing and the other with said shank to permit the two vehicles being separated by disconnection of the shank from the housing without separation of the ball and socket members. The subjectmatter of this Specification is substantially the same as that described in Specification 623,433, but the claims are directed to the rigid connection provided by the screw and nut mechanism 22, 24.
