622,807. Stoppers. PATON, CALVERT & CO., Ltd., and PATON, W. April 12. 1947, No. 9778. [Class 125(iii)] A combined cork and metal cap is produced by forming a cap 11 with an internal peripheral rebate 11a and flattening or undishing an initially dished metal annulus 12, Fig. 1, to bring its inner periphery into engagement with the cork 13 and its outer periphery into engagement with the cap in the rebate, Fig. 2. The cork may be tapered, as shown, and have a beaded or flanged upper end, Fig. 3 (not shown).
