[Class 20(iv)] A floor and/or ceiling g structure comprises juxtaposed rows of substantially U-shaped elements 1 of light insulating material, e.g, porous, cellular or pumicestone concrete, in which the web 2 extends beyond the vertical flanges 3 as shown, so as to form between each adjacent pair of elements 1 a cavity of the same shape and size as the U-shaped cavity between the flanges of each element, which cavity has a width of the same order of magnitude as the thickness of the flanges, and these cavities are filled with reinforced concrete. In the form shown, the concrete extends above the elements 1, and is covered with a wearresisting layer 5. A ceiling rendering 6 may be applied direct on the undersurface of the elements 1 or on laths 7. The flanges 3 may be corrugated.
