Abstract

909,131. Floors and roofs. WEST OF ENGLAND CONCRETE CO. Ltd., and LOVE, A. C. Jan. 5, 1959 [Oct. 4, 1957], No. 31185/57. Class 20 (4). A roofing or floor slab or beam of concrete &c. has ribs on its under surface, at least two adjacent ribs 3, 4 being apertured to receive a rod 8 extending transversely across the space between the ribs 3, 4 to support service conduits, electric cables &c. within said space, a gap being provided adjacent one of said ribs to provide a clearance for introducing the rod into the apertures. In the embodiment described the clearance gap is provided by a comparatively wide space between the rib 3 and a third rib 2. The slabs are joined together by series of inter-engaging complementary rebates 11, 12 on the sides of the slabs. Additional channels 7 may be provided to receive service conduits &c. extending transversely of the ribs and supported on rods introduced across the channels 7 from the channels 6. Plaster board 13 under the assembled slabs and one or more layers of rubberoid above the assembly are provided.
