Abstract

303,533. Meier, A. J. Aug. 2, 1927. Hollow blocks for floors and walls.-The walls and floors of a building consist of hollow gypsum units 1, 11, Fig. 19, of storey height or spanning from wall to wall and of general rectangular crosssection, which are placed in adjoining edge to edge relation with no intervening spaces. The floors consist of units 1, Fig. 2, having three cavities, the central of which has a wall 6 adapted to be broken away so as to provide a channel for the reception of concrete 8 when the units are arranged as shown in Fig. 3. Wall units 11 are adapted to be fitted together by means of a tongue and groove engagement, Fig. 17, and have one or two cavities. A double wall may be formed as shown in Fig. 17 by the provision of columnar units 24, 25 adapted to be filled with concrete. The units may be reinforced as shown in Fig. 2 by rods 4, 5. A facing of paper, fabric, &c. may be attached during moulding to one or both faces of the units, or it may extend completely around the units, and it may be applied also to the surfaces of the cavities.
