Abstract

Bricks, special shapes of.-Building blocks of the type having two comparatively thin slabs united by one or more transverse webs are formed to lock adjacent courses against both longitudinal and transverse movement. According to the invention two slabs b are united by webs c extended to form projections d below the level of the body of the block. Blocks different spacings between the webs may be used for alternate courses, but in all cases the projections d encompass the webs of adjacent blocks in the course below, as shown in Fig. 7. The upper edges of the webs, which in the main are level with the upper surface of the block, are recessed at e to receive moulding strips to form air passages in the wall when the concrete filling is inserted in the blocks. For corners, one of the recessed ends of the block is filled up as shown in Fig. 6, leaving one web c and a solid end which is provided with a slot k. The downward projection of the web c fits into the slot k of the block in the course below.
