Building - blocks, special shapes of. - A building- block for hollow walls comprises two stretcher portions 2, 3 offset endwise an amount approximately one half their length and connected together adjacent the opposite ends by an intermediate portion 4, so that the distance between their outer faces is approximately equal to their length. In addition, the blocks may be provided with cavities 7, as shown in Fig. 5, which shows a hollow wall built up of the blocks together with ordinary closing blocks 6. Vertical cavities 5 are thus formed between the blocks, which cavities or some of them may be reinforced with a concrete filling.
