Abstract
613,552. Carbon-grain microphones; diaphragms. STANDARD TELEPHONES & CABLES, Ltd. June 14, 1946, No. 18009. Convention date, Oct. 29, 1943. [Class 40 (iv)] In a non-corrodible granule microphone capsule all the conducting parts except possibly for an external connecting member are made of conductive, e.g. graphite-impregnated, synthetic resin. In the capsule shown the electrical circuit is completed from the casing 1 to the diaphragm 3, the granule chamber 5 and the metal rivet 6 of which all except the last are of conductive synthetic resin. Insulating washers 8, 9 separate the rivet from the casing. The granule chamber cover 5 is closed by a cellulose acetate cover 6 and a felt pad 7 acts as a buffer between it and the diaphragm.
