Thermionic amplifiers; local disturbances, limiting.-The leads of a telephone head set are enclosed in a metallic shield as described in Specification 214,800 which shield is connected at one end to a point of low potential in a valve amplifier in the output circuit of which the telephones are connected and at the other end to a terminal 16 which is shorter than the telephone conductors 15, 17 and, besides being connected to the metallic casing 1 of the receiver, is arranged to prevent mechanical strain on the conductors. Specification 230,491 is referred to.
