Abstract

511,116. Two-part couplings. ZEISS IKON AKT.-GES. Nov. 16, 1938, No. 33364. Convention date, Jan. 25. [Class 38 (i)] [Also in Groups XXXVIII and XL] Relates to electrical connections for a screened photo-electric cell, particularly in soundreproducing apparatus. The cell 1 is enclosed in a cavity 4 in a metallic housing 2, a channel 5 communicating with the cavity, and containing a lead 8 connected at one end to the anode of the cell, and, at the end remote from the cavity 4, to a contact member 6 ; the housing 2 is removably secured to a metallic carrier 3. The contact 6, which is insulated by a bushing 7, engages with an insulated contact 9 mounted on a resilient tongue 10 which connects it to an insulated terminal 12, a screw 13 being provided to press the contact 9 against the member 6. The cathode of the cell is connected to the housing 2, and, through the carrier 3, to an earthing-terminal 15.
