Abstract

1,047,590. Two-part couplings. G. GL€SEL. Nov. 6, 1963 [Dec. 28, 1962], No. 43873/63. Heading H2E. A socket connector which receives a blade plug 4, has a main contact piece 3, and a spring 8 which surrounds the main contact piece 3 and presses the plug blade 4c against it. The contact 3 may be formed, Fig. 2, with a loose pressure piece 7, so the plug is compressed between members 3 and 7 by wire spring 8, and a raised pip 7a engages an elongated hole 4d in the plug blade. The wire spring 8 may be replaced by a sheet spring 9, Fig. 6, and the pressure piece 7 may be omitted so the spring 9 presses the plug blade against the single main contact piece. The contact is held in the insulating housing by screw 3a, which also serves to secure a wire to the contact piece. Multiple units may be mounted on a frame to form multipolar plug and socket devices.
