Class 40 (4) In an electro-acoustic transducer, a cylindrical projection 58 in the capsule casing has holes 59 in the cylindrical wall and is accommodated, on assembly, in an aperture in an earpiece or mouthpiece 60 which is lipped as at 61 to prevent the insertion into the capsule of long thin articles which might damage the diaphragm. An electromagnetic transducer mechanism, Fig. 1 (not shown), which is described in detail in Specification 704,140, is described insofar as the present invention is concerned and the Specification includes a discussion on the effects of the size of the sound passage on the performance of the transducer.
