613,087. Compression moulding machines. BYRON, H. May 29, 1946. No. 16364. [Class 87 (ii)] A machine for moulding concrete blocks, firelighters or coal briquettes comprises a stationary mould h, and a main shaft a on which are mounted an eccentric p for operating a pressing plunger m, a peripherally grooved cam k for sliding a gauge box g from the chute f of a hopper e to the mould, a cam disc w which operates to raise the bottom q of the mould, to eject the moulded article and a cam disc 3 which operates a pusher member to push the moulded article on to a pallet running on adjustable rollers. The gauge box closes the chute f, when it is over the mould. The pusher member has a quick return movement.
