Abstract

859,406. Compression moulding machines. KUHNKE, ELEKTROWERK G.m. b H. - H. July 7, 1959 [July 11, 1958]. No. 23309/59. Class 87(2). The ejector 10 of a fluid pressure operatec compression - -moulding machine is operated by fluid pressure in a cylinder 7 on which is slidable a cylinder 1 into which fluid pressure is admitted to cause the cylinder 7 to act as a piston for the performance of the compression - moulding oper ation. Compressed air is admitted to the cylinder 1 at 14 and it therefore moves downwards, sliding on the cylinder 7 and on a tube 11, and pulls down a crossbeam S, through rods 4, so applying pressure to the material in the mould (not shown), between the crossbeam 5 and a plate 8 on the end of the cylinder 7. The air pressure is then released and the cylinder 1 and crossbeam 5 are returned by a spring 12. Compressed air is then admitted to the tube 11 at 18 and enters the cylinder 7, the piston 9 of which rises and forces up the ejector 10. Air pressure is released after the ejecting operation and the ejector is returned by a spring 13. An arrangement is also mentioned in which a piston rises to compress the material and is also the cylinder for the ejector piston.
