Abstract
766,748. Machines for moulding building blocks &c. LINGL. H. Jan. 11, 1955, No. 838/55. Class 87(2). A hopper 17 is moved by a piston 18 over a mould, comprising pivoted sides 1, 2 operated by pistons 6, to allow the moulding material to fall into the mould. The hopper returns and a cover 4 is moved by a piston to cover the mould, and is then locked in position. The mould bottom 3 is raised to partly compress the material. Cores 11 are then inflated to complete the moulding of the material. The height to which the bottom is raised is adjustable, and it is held in its raised position by spring-urged bolts (see Fig. 4, not shown). After moulding, the mould halves are pivoted outwardly, the bolts holding the cover and the bottom are released, and the moulded block raised, where it is grasped by arms 21 on the hopper as it makes its next feeding movement. The block is deposited on a conveyer 23.
