[Class 44] A handle for a vehicle door, of the kind moving at right angles to the plane of the door, comprises a part c which actuates the fastening mechanism, a second part d forming a handle, a pin e pivotally connecting the two parts together and to a support b, and a catch i to connect the parts and prevent relative pivotal movement. A key-operable barrel lock . g mounted in the part c is adapted to actuate the catch i and lock the part c to the support b. The catch comprises a spring-loaded bolt i, the rear part of which is engaged by a rotatable cam h on the barrel lock. When the door is locked, the cam h protrudes into slots in the support b, the catch i being retracted to allow the handle free but ineffective movement. The latch bolt m is moved by a roller q on the part c through levers o, n.
