646,766. Door latches. BLOORE & PILLER, Ltd. Sept. 16, 1948, No. 24342. [Class 44] The actuating means for a door latch comprises an 'attachment plate a having a hollow rear side, a handle b rotatably mounted on and extending through the plate, a catch slidably mounted on the rear side of the plate, the catch and the adjacent end of the handle being interengageable, and a finger piece on the outer side of the plate for actuating the catch. A projection d carried inside the escutcheon plate a on the shank of the handle is locked by engagement in a notch f formed in the catch plate e. The catch plate is formed with a transverse recess in which works an eccentric i on a spindle g carrying the finger piece h on the outside end which is turned to move the catch to and from the locking position. Alternatively the catch plate may carry a projection engaging in a notch in the handle.
