Abstract

612,637. Lathe centres. HAZLEWOOD, G. W. May 28, 1946, No. 16140. [Class 83 (iii)] A tailstock or like centre is provided with a revoluble head 1 mounted by a ball journal bearing 3 and a ball thrust bearing 4 upon a stationary shank 2. The journal bearing is disposed between a peg 2b on the shank and a cylindrical chamber 1c in the head, while the thrust bearing is interposed between a collar 2d on the shank and a facing le in the head which is secured over the shank by a nut 5.
