Abstract
612,600. Cord fasteners. NAPPER, A. F. June 17, 1946, No. 18128. [Class 44] [Also in Group VII] A fastening for a wrist-band comprises two housings 1, 2, Fig. 5, receiving the free ends of the band and having gripping levers 16 and retaining levers 17 pivoted at opposite ends of the housings. The gripping lever 16 has a serrated edge 20 and a torsion spring 21 tending to disengage it from the band. It is maintained in engagement by the end 22 of the retaining lever 17. In a modification, Fig. 9, the gripping lever has a projection 25 to engage a niche 24 in the retaining lever 17. The housings are connected by a hook 9 on the housing 2 passing through an orifice 8 in the housing 1. The hook has a nose portion 11 to make a spring-fit over the edge of a slot 13 in the housing 2. The angular movement of the hook is limited to 45 degrees so that the two housings cannot easily become separated accidentally.
