[Class 40 (viiil] A resistance which increases with A.C. voltage is provided by inverting, by means of a quarter-wave line, the impedance of an element whose resistance decreases with voltage. This may be of the material known under the Registered Trade Mark " Metrosil." Capacity in the element may be neutralized by adjusting the length of the line and other linear or non- linear resistances may be embodied to give a desired law of variation.
