Abstract

635,897. Impedance networks. GORDON, D. S., MILLING, M. C. CROWLEY-, and METROPOLITAN-VICKERS ELECTRICAL CO., Ltd. Aug. 15, 1946, No. 24307. [Class 40 (viii)] A terminating arrangement for a concentric line for H.F. energy comprises a resistance 3 connected to the inner conductor 1 and to a bolometer 4, the latter being connected to the end 5 of the outer conductor 2 and a shunting resistance being connected between the junction point of resistance 3 and the bolometer and the outer conductor. In the construction shown, the shunt comprises two resistances 6 and 9, the latter shunted by a choke 7. A bolometer is defined as a small resistive element whose resistance changes as the result of heat developed by power absorbed.
