Abstract
611,588. Carpet fastenings. FERNBERG, E. B., and FERNTOL PATENTS, Ltd. May 6, 1946, No. 13656. [Class 44] A fastener comprises a screwed or riveted stud 22, Fig. 5, and a socket 23, Fig. 2, of spring wire or strip bent to have two or more points along its length close together at which points the socket can be sprung into engagement with the stud and other points relatively far apart where the socket is secured to a carpet. The socket is fastened to a carpet by a ring 25, Fig. 4, having prongs 26, 27, 28, which are passed through the carpet and clenched to the arms of the socket. The socket may be formed in a number of shapes, e.g. rectangular, triangular or star-shaped. In a modification, the socket itself has integral pronged legs for attachment to the carpet. Specification 475,802 is referred to.
