Abstract

175,320. Smith, E. J., and Smith, D. Sept. 1, 1920. Press-button fasteners.-The socket member of a snapfastener is made with a base part 7, a socket 2, a spring 9 with limbs projecting through slots 8 in the socket in order to grip the stud when inserted therein, and a number of prongs 4 adapted to be passed through the material to which the fastener member is to be secured and then to be pressed down on the material against the face of the base 7 from which the socket 2 projects. The spring 9 is held in place by a lug 10 bent up from the base 7. Stud members with similar prongs are also shown and described. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specification 24069/99, [Class 43, Fastenings, Dress].
