Press-button fasteners for securing a fabric to a structure, of the type in which separation of the stud and socket may be affected by relative tipping in one direction only, have a socket constructed with a casing 9 provided with inwardly projecting portions 15, 16 to retain the spring 12, and prongs 24 passing through the fabric and clenching a back plate 25, The back plate 25 has an opening 26 closely contacting the stud on three sides but with a clearance on the fourth to allow tilting and a bearing surface 28 for extending first rearwardly and then forwardly. The projections 15, 16 are supported by lugs bent up from the body of the casing, or in the case of the projection 16 by a central lug 22, integral therewith, which also forms an aligner for the spring.
