Abstract

501,719. Paper &c. fasteners. ROBINSON, H. J. Aug. 26,1938, No. 25098. [Class 44] In a fastener for securing together superposed layers of material comprising a V- form member one limb 2 of which has a struckup prong 7 adapted to be passed through the material and through an aperture 8 in the other limb 1, the end of prong 7 being then clinched over, additional shorter prongs are provided. Aperture 8 preferably has converging edges 9. As shown a pair of additional prongs 10 is stamped out on each limb. The prongs may, however, be provided on one limb only, the other limb having corresponding triangular prong-receiving apertures. The blank is cut away to provide a narrow neck 3 in the region of the bend. Fig. 4 shows the application to securing the ends of loop strap 12 together, and to a ring 13 which is secured in the bight of the fastener and is mounted on a bracket 14.
