[Class 35] A two-pole stator core is made up of oppositely situated stacks of C-shaped laminae 11 whose middle portions 16 are straight and carry magnetizing coils and whose ends interleave to form a closed ring, the interleaved portions being internally curved at 18, 19 to produce pole faces. The laminµ, which are secured by bolts 20 to a plate 21 have one limb longer than the other so that inverting alternate layers cause the overlapping at the junction.
