608,434. Concrete floors; casting in situ. GEAIRNS, A. J. E. Feb. 23, 1946, No. 5677. [Classes 20(ii) and 20(iv)] A reinforced concrete floor is formed from a number of precast concrete beams 1 having upper and lower flanges 2, 3, the latter being wider than the former, placed with their lower flanges abutting, concrete 4 then being cast in the space between and over the beams to interlock therewith and form the finished floor, the precast beams acting as permanent shuttering for the in situ concrete. The edges of the lower flanges are bevelled, adjacent edges forming a V-shaped groove which accommodates and positions the lower member 5 of a vertical reinforcing member disposed between a pair of adjacent beams. The grooves also accommodate cement: The lower faces of the upper flanges of the beams are inclined as at 6.
