Abstract

608,189. Current and voltage measurements and measuring apparatus. WILKINS, S. R., and AUTOMATIC COIL WINDER & ELECTRICAL EQUIPMENT CO., Ltd. Feb. 18, 1946, No. 5009. [Class 37] A multi-range electric measuring instrument has a switch 20 adjusting the range and a switch 10 determining the type of measurement, (e.g. D.C. volts, A.C. volts, power, capacity, resistance), the switches being associated with discs 13, 23 carrying markings indicative of type and range, the discs overlapping behind a display window 30 and masking each other as desired, so that range and type of measurement are displayed in accordance with the setting of the switches. A third switch may be provided to adjust load resistance for wattage measurements, the associated disc 50 being masked as desired by disc 13 and being displayed in window 51. The switches 20, 10 may be co-axial.
