Abstract
636,048. Resistance measurements. ELECTRONIC & X-RAY APPLICATIONS, Ltd., TUNNICLIFFE, E. A. J., and WILKINS, S. R. June 4, 1947, No. 14786. [Class 37] A low resistance source B, Fig. 1, supplies current to a low resistance R across which is a voltmeter connected by low resistance leads L<1>, L<11>, and the unknown low resistance is connected to leads El, E<11> to vary the meter reading and thus indicate its value. Preferably LR is about half the unknown resistance. As shown in Fig. 2, the arrangement is modified for measurements over two ranges, switch SW connecting either LR<1> or LR<11>across the meter mv. The terminals E<1>, E<11> for connecting to the unknown resistance include a contact strip 11, Fig. 3a, and one has a contact 8, 9 actuated by a button 4 for completing the circuit of the resistance LR<1> or LR<11> and the battery B.
