608,013. Belt fastenings. WATTS, A. B., and BRITISH ROPES, Ltd. Feb. 14, 1946, No. 4619. [Class 80 (i)] [Also in Group XXV] A belt fastening, particularly for large conveyer belts comprises alternate loops on the belt ends connected by a flexible pivot pin 1 made of wire rope. One end of the pin is provided with a boss 2, and the other end 3 is tapered and entered in a boss 4 of substantially the same diameter as the rope, formed with a hole 6 which is engaged by a split-pin to prevent accidental removal of the pin 1. Alternatively the boss 4 may be screw-threaded to engage a nut element.
