677,669. Belt fastening. ZILLER, H. May 10, 1950 [Oct. 1, 1948], No. 11685/50. Class 80 (i). A fastener for conveyer belts and the like of the type comprising a plurality of wire hooks clinched into the belt ends and interconnected by a hinge pin has a flexible hinge pin a of steel wire rope whose ends b, c are welded or soldered to prevent unravelling. Additional welded or soldered portions d, e, f are provided at regular distances along the pin so that it may be shortened as required by cutting off at a weld. In order to avoid a decrease in diameter at each weld, thin sleeves may be threaded on prior to welding, or be pressed on after welding. In a modification one or both ends of a hinge pin are welded or soldered along a stretch of considerable length.
