Abstract

591,798. Endless-chain conveyers. MAV- OR & COULSON, Ltd., and THOMSON, J. Dec. 8, 1944, No. 24686. [Class 78(i)] In a scraper-chain type feeder for coal comprising a receiving portion 10, a delivery portion 13, and an upwardly inclined ramp connecting the parts 10, 13, the ramp is composed of separable sections 11, 12, &c., so that the length of the ramp can be varied to suit the gradient of the floor. Connection between the receiving and delivery parts with the ramp consist of a hinge 29 and pin and slot connection 30. Parts 10 and 13 have bases 33 and 34 which rest on the floor and are movable over it. Sections 11 and 12 have flanged ends 14 and 15 by which they are connected together. The conveyer has runs 19 and 20 led round pulleys 21 and 22 looped round driving sprocket roller 23 driven by motor 24 and round tensioning roller 25. The conveyer consists of two side chains interconnected by bars bottomed by metal plating.
