606,725. Air-blast switches. ALLMANNA SVENSKA ELEKTRISKA AKTIEBOLAGET. Jan. 17, 1946, No. 1602. Convention date, Jan. 31, 1945. [Class 38 (v)] In an alternating-current, air-blast circuitbreaker, wherein the arc at certain current values blocks the insulating or contact nozzle, the air-pipe line has an enlarged cross-section F<3> immediately before the nozzle and of sufficient length l<3> to ensure that a compressedair wave and its reflection cannot traverse the enlarged section from and back to the nozzle after the commencement of air-flow through the nozzle and before the zero of the cycle, thereby ensuring only a slight pressure reduction in this time interval.
