Abstract

606,090. Hand-stamps. STANLEIGH, E. W. H. April 23, 1946, No. 12257. [Class 100(ii)] In a hand stamp the downward movement of the forme carrier 7 causes an ink pad 11 to move in parallel planes downwardly and laterally outwards by means of a connecting link 18 and parallel links 16 hinged at 17, the downward motion of the pad being initially greater than the movement of the printing elements. The contacting pressure of the pad on the printing elements is adjusted by means of a plate 19 pivoted at 20 to the carrier 7 and having a lug 21 positioned between a pair of adjusting screws 22. The tray 12, holding the pad 11 is pivoted to side brackets 13 so that it may rock to an extent limited by springs 15 on the brackets 13 to permit even contact between the pad and the printing elements.
