Abstract

644,510. Rotary duplicating machines. BLOCK & ANDERSON, Ltd. (Bonsch, F. R.). March 10, 1948, No. 7385. [Class 100 (ii)] A hectographic duplicating machine includes a damping pad 5 and a pad surface bar 6 between which the sheet to be copied is passed, the pad surface bar being pivotally mounted about an axis 8 lying in a plane substantially parallel to the sheet supporting surface of the bar and extending transversely to the longitudinal direction of the bar. The machine has a sheet-feed table 11 aligned with the upper surface of the bar 6 which, as shown, is L- shaped. The pad 5 is mounted on a lever 15 pivoted at 16 and moved away from the bar 6 by a cam 13 and follower 14 to allow the leading edge of a sheet to be fed. The pad surface bar is pivotally mounted centrally of its length on a rigid bar 7 by a spring-loaded bolt 8. The bar 6 may be spring loaded at one or both ends so that normally it is maintained in a horizontal position. In a modification the bar 6 is of T cross-sectional shape and is pivoted at its centre in a channel section member which may be provided with springs at either end of the bar disposed between the lower edge of the bar and the channel section member.
