282,110. Spiess, G. Dec. 13, 1920, [Convention date]. Addition to 278,007. Sheet-registering devices.-In the sheet-registering device described in the parent Specification in which the sheet is moved against a side guide 15 by the engagement of a spring-pressed roller 3 with a reciprocating bar 31, the axis 32, about which the lever 2, 33 carrying the roller 3 and guide 5 oscillates, is arranged in or approximately in the plane of the contact surface of the bar 31 so that there is no tendency for the engagement of the roller 3 and bar 31 to cause faulty registration by the front stops. The roller 3 and guide 15 are carried by plungers 36, 37 pressed downwardly by springs 38, 39, the tension of which may be adjusted by screws 40, 41. The side guide 15 and guide plate 13 are secured to an angle piece 42 pivoted at 43 to the end of the plunger 37, the piece 42 being held in any position of adjustment by means of a screw-and-slot connection 46, 47 with a horizontal extension 45 on the plunger 37.
