Abstract

780,739. Clamp fastenings. BAKER PERKINS, Ltd. Aug. 24, 1955 [May 25, 1954], No. 15349/54. Class 44 [Also in Group VIII] A clip for use in a device for feeding sheets and like articles to an ironing machine (see Group VIII) comprises a long fixed abutment 15 extending across the feeding machine between a pair of supporting chains (not shown) and a long pivoted clip jaw 16 co-operating therewith. The jaw 16 has a rearward portion 17 on which the fabric of the sheet can bear, after the clip has been closed (by manual pressure), to hold the clip closed by the weight of the body of the sheet. A spring loaded detent 19 holds the clip jaw open prior to loading. The clip may also be provided with a short depending release lever 20.
