Abstract
1452755 Travelling cylinder machine ADDKESSOGRAPH MULTIGRAPH CORP 29 Nov 1973 [18 Dec 1972] 55510/73 Heading B6C In a travelling-cylinder machine where a platen roller is supported in a pivotable head, and a handle is depressed to firstly close the head on to the base and secondly to provide the driving force for the printing stroke of the roller, a bow link is incorporated to provide a progressively increasing force during the printing stroke to compensate for the decreasing force exerted directly by the handle. In Fig. 4, the bow link 33 is formed of two arms 34, 35, the pivot points 36, 37 of the ends of the link 33 lying on opposite sides of the pivot point 19 of the head on base 10, and a lug 39 on link arm 34 engaging spring 40 which provides a return force when the handle 30 is released, Fig. 5 (not shown).
