Abstract

1347636 Ink ribbon mechanisms SIEMENS AG 20 July 1972 [22 July 1971 30 Sept 1971] 34006/72 Heading B6F An ink ribbon feed arrangement in a printer comprises a cassette 1 receiving folded convolutions of ribbon 2 and associated with drive rollers 3, 4 and a tensioning spring 5 mounted on the printer, the drive rollers engaging the ribbon in use through apertures in the cassette, one of the rollers being pivotable between operative and inoperative positions. The length of ribbon held by the cassette is endless. The cassette may be tilted with respect to the print line for maximum wear of the ribbon.
