Abstract
PURPOSE:To reduce noise, by a method wherein a means capable of moving as one body with a printing head and pressing a recording paper against a platen is provided in proximity to the printing head. CONSTITUTION:Two pressing rollers 11 for the recording paper are rotatably fitted to a carriage 6 at the left and the right of the front end 2 of the printing head. The rollers 11 are shaped in an hourglass form conforming to the radius of the platen 9 so that they make close contact with the platen 9. In this case of fitting, even when the recording paper 4 is sagged between a pinch roller 7 and a paper-pressing roller 8, the paper 4 is slid between the roller 8 and the platen 9 to remove the sag, so that the paper 4 is always brought into close contact with the platen 9. Accordingly, an ink on an ink ribbon will not be adhered to the recording paper unnecessarily, and an excellent print quality can be obtained. In addition, disalignment of printing and vibration of the paper 4 can be prevented, and an impact-type printer with high quality and calm operation can be obtained.
