Abstract

PURPOSE:To reduce the size and weight of a printer and simplify its construction, by using a flat platen, straightly moving printing paper on the platen, using thermosensitive carbon paper to perform selective transfer and applying a spring to thrust a thermal printing head toward the platen. CONSTITUTION:A printer comprises a flat platen 110, a feed roller 112 for straightly feeding printing paper 106 along the platen 110, a thermal printing head 101, a spring 127 for elastically thrusting the head 101 together with thermosensitive carbon paper 105 on the printing paper 106, etc. Wax-containing carbon 119 of the thermosensitive carbon paper 105 is selectively molten to transfer characters onto the surface of the printing paper 106. According to this constitution, printing can be effected on bank-books of large thickness, the storage of printed notes, slips or the like is facilitated and the size of the printer is reduced.
