605,618. Centrifugal pumps. SULZER FRERES SOC. ANON. Jan. 1, 1946, No. 41. Convention date, Jan. 13, 1945. [Class 110 (i)] In a multi-stage helico-centrifugal compressor, an inter-stage cooler is located within the pump casing in the space between the walls 8. The cooling fluid passes from 16 to 17 through coils of tubing 10 coaxial with the pump and surrounding the impeller 21. In a two-stage pump with the impellers arranged back-toback, the cooler may be divided into two portions, the coils of one portion surrounding the L.P. stage and the coils of the other portion surrounding the H.P. stage.
