Abstract
604,088. Operating means for sliding windows. WILMOT - BREEDEN, Ltd., and PALMER, A. Nov. 23, 1945, No. 31693. [Class 20(iii)] In operating means for vertically sliding vehicle windows in which one or more arms b are pivotally mounted at one end d and act at the other end c upon the lower edge of the window, there is provided at their pivoted end counterbalancing means consisting in part of a helical spring h bent to a circular form. As shown the two arms b are mounted on a plate a and adapted to move in opposite direction by means of the gear wheels c screwed to their pivot spindles e and actuated by the gear train f. The spring h is housed in the annular channel i' formed between the peripherally flanged discs i<1>, i<2> of which one disc i<2> is fixed to the plate a and the other i<1> is secured to the pivot spindle d and is free to rotate. The ends of the spring h are supported by the abutments j<1> and j<2> pressed out from the discs i' and i<2>.
