Abstract
603,315. Water heaters. EWART & SON, Ltd., EWART, J. H., and BLUM, H. A. Oct. 18, 1945, No. 27347. [Class 64(i)] In a water heater mounted with its back against a wall or the like, the gas and water connections 7, 9, 14 project downwardly from the heater and a clamping or holding bar 15 extends laterally across the outside of those connections and is secured by screwing to a wall fitting or back plate 1 so as to mount the heater. The clamping bar 15 and a horizontal bar or rail on the back plate are recessed to form complementary sockets for the connections 7, 9, 14. The flue 2 is held against the back plate 1 by a metal tongue which engages in a bracket on the flue back plate. The heater unit comprising the flue 2, heating coil 12, burner 3 and regulating valve 5 are released from the back plate by disconnecting the connections 7, 9, 14 from the gas and water pipes, unscrewing the bar 15, and disengaging the tongue from the bracket.
