Abstract
599,514. Endless tracks. SCAMMELL LORRIES, Ltd., HUGH, P. G., AND DAVIES, E. C. Sept. 26, 1945, No. 24921. [Class 79 (i)] Shoes of a track adapted to embrace vehicle wheels comprise a number of link members 1 cranked intermediate their ends at 4 and welded or otherwise secured to bottom plates 2 and upper plates 3, adjacent shoes being hinged together by a pin 6, each shoe having transverse ground-engaging strakes 9, e.g., of channel section, welded to the bottom plate. Guide plates 7 may be welded to the ends to position the shoes on the wheels or tyres. The end plates 7 may have strengthening webs 11 welded thereto to the upturned ends of the strakes 9, and may have their edges 8 turned back to facilitate engagement with the walls of the tyres.
