Abstract

598,418. Frictional igniters. SIEGRIST, J. C. Sept. 3, 1945, No. 22595. [Class 75 (iii)] In a lighter of the kind in which a lever 11 actuates an arm 4 carrying a wick-cap 6, the rear of the arm 4 is connected by a short link 7 with a lever 8 pivotally mounted at 9 in the casing, the actuating lever 11 being positively connected to the lever 8 and spring means 15 being provided to return the parts to their normal position. The actuating lever 11, which may rock about a pivot 10 or be mounted in suitable guides in the casing; may be connected to the lever 8 by a link 13 and may have its forward end 11a shaped to receive the rear end of the arm 4.
