563,021. Pyrophoric lighters. ABBOTT, S. E. Jan. 31, 1944, No. 18563/42. [Class 75 (iii)] The extinguisher ca,p 16 and the friction wheel 22 of a pyrophoric lighter are pivoted on a pin 17 carried by limbs 18 on the projecting end of the flint tube 19, part of the periphery of the friction wheel extending through a slot in the top of the cap so that the friction wheel and cap may be operated simultaneously by a finger or thumb. The sides of the cap are connected at their rear ends by a bridge-pin 24. The cap is held in the open or closed position by the engagement of a spring 25 on the cap with the top or side edges of the limbs 18 or of a spring secured to the lighter body with the underside and end of the cap.
