Abstract

590,233. Pyrophoric lighter-wick caps. LOWENTHAL, J., and BISHTON, A. H. March 16, 1945, No. 6721. [Class 75 (iii)] In a pyrophoric lighter of small cross-section with a wick cap 12 which is pivotally mounted on a spindle 5 carrying the friction wheel 6 and provided with a projection or milled edge so that the wick can be raised when the wheel is rotated, the cap 12 is diecast in one piece. The cap 12 is formed with two projections mounted outside the limbs of a U-shaped member which supports the spindle 5, a spring washer or the like being inserted on one side to prevent slipping. The fuel chamber 1 containing absorbent material is closed by a removable cap 2 which is secured by a bayonet fitting.
