787,640. Smokers lighters. RONSON PRODUCTS, Ltd. (Ronson Corporation). Sept. 1, 1955 [Sept. 9, 1954], No. 26150/54. Class 75(3) In an operating mechanism for cigarette lighters comprising a spring biased operating lever 1 pivotally mounted at one end between upstanding flanges 5 attached to or forming part of the lighter body 2 and partially surrounding the lever 1 and at the other end provided with means to operate the snuffer cap 3 and friction wheel 4 a bearing member 6 is formed in or attached to the lighter body 2 at one end of the lever 1 and provides a seat 7 for a fulcrum pin. 8 provided on the lever 1 and is located wholly within the confines of the flanges 5. The lever 1 is upwardly biased by a looped wire spring 9 the free ends of which are bent round the pin 8 and the looped end bears on the lighter body or the lever 1 whilst an intermediate portion correspondingly bears against the lever 1 or the lighter body.
