Abstract

598,021. Cycle locks. MUNDY, A. E. Aug. 29, 1945, No. 22182. [Class 79 (iii)] In theft-preventing devices for cycles, of the type comprising a U-shaped yoke 1 adapted to embrace the wheel forks and spokes enclosed by a hinged bridge piece 3, the bridge piece is provided with an apertured flange 7 which in the closed position registers with the aperture 9, the hasp of a lock 10 passing through both apertures. The eyes of the hinge may be so shaped e.g., as at 2a in Fig. 8, that in the open position the bridge piece 3 is maintained in alignment with the arm of the yoke 1, whereby positioning of the device on the cycle is facilitated. The yoke may be covered with rubber or other material 12.
